Many thanks
OPS for your help in me gaining my Licentiateship
with the RPS. I did attend the assessment day at Smethwick
; it was very nerve racking compared with the PAGB
awards. They had two slide applications first with
one pass, then the prints the first two panels were
excellent and they passed, then mind was the third.
The one judge who commented said it was a good panel
the natural history with the birds was excellent,
he saw the bottom row as just landscapes and not seascapes
as the coastal theme I had intended. That’s
all that was said, and then the wait for all the Judges
to add their scores, then the chief judge stood up
and said that this panel by Dave Foster of Oxford
was successful (Yippee). The next four panels failed,
I wasn’t there for the full day but when I left
I think there was 50/50 pass fail, to me some of those
that failed didn’t look too bad so why they
failed was a mystery. Certainly much more difficult
than the PAGB, I have to go for the ARPS now, but
I will wait another year or so.
Again thanks for your help and advice.
