Q How long have you been interested in Photography?
Since about 16 when my Dad brought home an unclaimed Nikon EM that he found at work abandoned by a tourist.
Q Why did you start taking pictures?
Started taking pics regularly when my sons were born and then even more regularly when I started making regular visits to Switzerland.
Q What was the first picture you took, that you can remember?
A photo of my sons studying some sort of bug on Boxhill somewhere.

Q Have you any other interests?
Walking, trekking, cycling, mountain biking.

Nikon EM
Q Which piece of equipment could you not live without
Nikon F80 + 24-70 lens
Q What equipment do you use now?
F80, 24-70, 17-35, 70-200(all Sigma)
Q Here is a blank cheque, what piece of equipment would you buy?
Hasselblad medium format + digital back (£40,000 plus?)
Q How long have you been a member of OPS?
Since 2002
Q What are the rewards of being a member of OPS?
The excitement of competitions (no, I mean it). Some excellent external speakers and the experience and enthusisasm of the members.
Q Have you been a member of other camera clubs?
Of course not.
Q What would you say was the hardest picture you ever took?
14,000ft altitude, 5.00am, lying on my belly in the snow waiting for the sun to come up a a big Peruvian mountain called Salkantaya.
Q What is your most successful picture?
Lonely Tree?
Q What was the worst picture you ever took?
Lots of duff ones when trying my hand at sport photography.

Fuji Provia
Q What are your favourite subjects?
Mountains, snow, climbers and white posts.
