Q How long have you been interested in Photography? 35 years
Q Why did you start taking pictures?(Seriously) I enjoyed watching wildlife and wanted to capture and communicate the experience.
Q What was the first picture you took, that you can remember? A steam train stopped at Worksop station 1952; an unsuccessful competition entry.
Q Have you any photographic awards? No photographic letters after my name but I won the British Wildlife category in the 1999 BG Wildlife Photographer of the year competition.
Q Have you any other interests? Non as obsessive as photography.
Q What was the first camera you owned? A Kodak Brownie 127
Q Which piece of equipment could you not live without? My Wimberley tripod head.
Q What equipment do you use now?Nikon D300 with Nikon 70-200 and Sigma 500.
Q Here is a blank cheque, what piece of equipment would you buy? Nikon D3 and Nikon 200-400f4
Q How long have you been a member of OPS? 12 years
Q What are the rewards of being a member of OPS? Contact with other photographers with a wide range of specialities.
Q Have you been a member of other camera clubs? No. I was for 8 years Chairman of the Photographic Committee of the British Deer Society and I am currently Vice Chairman.
Q What would you say was the hardest picture you ever took? Mating foxes - I had to crawl 50 metres over gravel, my knees took days to recover, my trousers never did. It was not even a good shot because the light was flat.
Q What is your most successful picture? The BG winner.
Q What was the worst picture you ever took? Duff ones too numerous to identify a worst.
Q What are your favourite subjects? Deer, Birds in Flight.
Q If you could take a picture again which one would it be? My most recent good one.
Q Who are your favourite photographers? Franz Lanting Chris Packham, Andy Rouse, Don McCullin, O Winston Link.
