Q
How long have you been interested in Photography?
I have always been interested in photography only I have
never considered myself as a photographer. I completed a
1 yr working placement in Sarawak and Sabah, Borneo Malysia.
It was effectively the best time of my life which also opened
my eyes to colour and the fantastic different aspects of
life going on around me. It was this experience which has
made me more interested in photography and improving my
skills
Q What was the first picture you took, that you can remember?
I think it was probably of some flowers in a forest on a
film camera more than 20 yrs ago.
Q What type of subjects do you like to photograph? I have
a wide interest of subjects. I like taking pictures of nature
and landscapes. People wise, I like trying to catch natural
expressions of people especially from different cultures,
their faces could tell so many stories.
|
Q Have you any other interests? Yes, I like to keep fit and
enjoy going to the gym and cycling which i am trying to get
back into.
Q What was the first camera you owned? My first film camera
i think was a kodak but I cant remember. My first digital camera
was a Samsung automatic (again I cant remember the model).
Q What equipment do you use now? Being a scientist, I have always
been surrounded by Nikon based equipment (among other major
scientific co. brands), so have ltached onto the Nikon band
wagon.
Q How long have you been a member of OPS? 6 months
Q What are the rewards of being a member of OPS? Meeting other
enthusiastic photographers from varying backgrounds. Club meetings,
organised
Q What would you say was the hardest picture you ever took?
Not sure, as i find it is all about getting the right exposure
settings with your camera. so realistcally speaking that for
me means wildlife. since i am new amateur photographer it is
going to take me a while to afford some of the equipment as
it tends to be fairly expensive.
Q What is your most successful picture? I think i took some
successful pictures whilst I was in india some good dusk shots
and landscapes. I am getting into the se of photoshop so i am
sure there must be more.
Q If you could take a picture again which one would it be? Tough
question as there are so many situtions i can think of
Q Have you any favourite photographers? not sure, my role model
at present is Sir David Attenborough however, he isnt the one
taking the pictures, he is the one portraying infectious subjective
interest in wildlife. |
