Q What was the first camera you owned?
A A Werra II ( I think that was the make, I still have it
in the attic somewhere . You wound the film on by rotating
a ring on the fixed lens)
Q Which piece of equipment could you not live without?
A A 24mm lens on any body, but the main answer must be the
computer.
Q What equipment do you use now?
A An old (by today’s standards) D30 Canon SLR Digital
Camera
Q Here is a blank cheque, what piece of equipment would
you buy?
A Sigma 12 – 24mm Digital Zoom lens and a Digital
Projector
Q How long have you been a member of OPS?
A Over 15 Years
Q What are the rewards of being a member of OPS?
A You see a very high standard of work from guest speakers
and our own members.
Q Have you been a member of other camera clubs?
A Warminster CC in Wiltshire and Witney CC near where we
live.
Q What would you say was the hardest picture you ever took?
A One comes to mind, taken in America - balanced on a rock
and taking a one handed shot in the Arches National Park
in Utah.
Q What is your most successful picture?
A A not very good photograph taken of a Combine Harvester
just down the road from us won in 1990 nearly a £1000
pounds worth of prizes in a Canon Calendar competition.
Q What was the worst picture you ever took?
A Too many to mention (I still keep them just in case)
Q What is your favorite film?
A It used to be Kodachrome 64 until I went completely digital
Q What are your favorite subjects?
A Landscapes, people, flowers, cityscapes- in fact anything
Q Who are your favorite photographers?
A Ernst Haas, Pete Turner, Franco Fontana and Shinzo Maeda.
My favourite book is titled, “Landscape Photography
– the art and techniques of eight modern masters”

Q Has any one picture influenced your photography?
A Ancel Adams famous moody shot of the landscape with the
moon. (sorry I cannot remember the title)
