Imagining the impossible before breakfast

Philip Joyce was an invited member of a judging panel that assessed the level of photographic creativity demonstrated by participants in a research study lead by Dalena Van Heugten of Oxford University's Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences.

Dalena's paper ('Imagining the impossible before breakfast: the relation between creativity, dissociation, and sleep')has been published in Frontiers in Psychology, an open access journal, which is heavily read among scientists particularly in the psychology/psychiatry field. It is also accessible to everybody and can be read here: http://journal.frontiersin.org/article/10.3389/fpsyg.2015.00324/full.

Philip said 'it was great fun to see how all the photographers involved had risen to the daily challenge of submitting one picture taken on a theme emailed to them each morning.'
