Started to use a camera when it became obvious (at school) that I could neither draw nor paint !
Apart from sailing my passion was for walking and trekking, especially in the mountains, initially in the UK and then further afield.I started photography in black and white with a Rolleicord twin lens reflex which took 2 1/4 square negatives which I would process in our family bathroom converted to a darkroom.Later I took slides with a variety of cameras ending with a Nikon F80. I went digital in Jan 2009 and now have a Nikon D300 with 11-16,16-85 and 70-300 lenses.
Now older (and arguably wiser) the emphasis is less on strenuous trekking and more on the photography
but the two make, for me,as enjoyable a combination as ever.
